For simple, easy operation of roller shutters by strap
With large window areas, multi-section roller shutter systems or wide, floor-to-ceiling patio windows, the roller shutter weight quickly exceeds the force that can still be applied comfortably when operating by strap. Depending on the strap width, the maximum permissible operating forces in accordance with DIN EN 13659 must be observed.
To prevent stiff operation and increased wear on the strap, SELVE strap tension gears are used: a gear ratio (from 2:1 to 3.7:1, depending on the model) significantly reduces the pulling force required, so that even shutters weighing up to 55 kg can be raised and lowered smoothly and in compliance with the standard. All SELVE strap tension gears are developed and manufactured in Germany.
The SELVE range comprises two series: Mini strap tension gears (strap width 14 mm) for octagonal shafts (SW 40 and SW 60 with gear ratios of 2:1 and 3:1, and LUNAMAT strap tension gears (strap width 23 mm) with gear ratios of 2:1, 2.6:1, 3.1:1 and 3.7:1 for octagonal shafts SW 60 and SW 70 and roller shutter weights of up to 55 kg. Which ratio makes sense depends on the roller shutter weight: the heavier the roller shutter, the higher the ratio that should be chosen. Both series can be combined with matching pulley diameters, gear roller caps, shaft pins and gear bearings, and cover both new-build and renovation applications.
