Convenience package 1:

Manual operation using a strap coiler or crank gear

Although motorised roller shutters and automated awnings are standard today, the ‘good old’ strap coilers and crank gears definitely still need a mention here. Attractive for tight budgets, albeit not as convenient as other solutions.
A certain amount of strength is required to raise the shutters, and this should be taken into account when considering this option. We recommend our other packages when a more senior-friendly solution for operating shutters is required. Every year, SELVE manufactures several million strap coilers for the manual operation of roller shutters. SELVE is the global market leader in this field.
Our advice: If you decide on this package, we recommend fitting a power connection inside all your roller shutter boxes when completing the building shell. This makes it extremely easy to retrofit a roller shutter drive at a later date.

Convenience package 2:

Drives with mechanical shut-off and wall-switch control

Fitting an electric drive with mechanical shut-off is the basic technology needed for the motorised operation of roller shutters and awnings.
Drives with electronic shut-off are the cheapest solution for electric-powered roller shutters, which are operated every day by pressing a wall switch for each individual shutter. Although this solution brings several benefits, it does not allow roller shutters to be operated remotely, nor automatically.
Setting the upper and lower end positions of your roller shutters can be awkward, as these positions need to be parametered on the driver, inside every roller shutter box.

Convenience package 3:

Drives with electronic shut-off and timer

A drive with electronic shut-off is integrated with smart features that prolong the service life of roller shutters and awnings and enable their automatic operation. This solution has two key benefits:

firstly, the integrated obstacle recognition system, which prevents obstacles in the path of the shutter, as well as the shutter itself, from getting damaged.
secondly, the integrated freeze protection system, which prevents the roller shutter from being forced up if it has frozen to the window sill in winter. This avoids damaging the roller shutter.

Furthermore, setting the initial parameters is much easier because this is carried out on the timer once it is installed, or via a special setting cable, rather than directly on the roller shutter motor itself.
A timer is the first step towards automating roller shutters and awnings. The roller shutters are driven up and down automatically, even when you’re not at home. This solution removes the need to operate the awning manually every day, which saves thousands of switch presses per year.
When the time commands are set correctly, they can stay as they are for many years – a stress-free benefit that users truly appreciate. The Astro function enables the roller shutters to be operated according to the times of sunrise and sunset.

Convenience package 4:

Radio drive with radio home control (individual, grouped or central control)

Today, radio-controlling roller shutters and awnings is a modern solution that brings your home into the future – whether you’re building a new house or renovating an old one. Installing radio drives enables you to operate home as a SmartHome.
All the convenient features of Package 3 are also included in this package. Furthermore, you can define both half-way and ventilation position settings for your roller shutters and awnings, and drive them to these positions either at the flick of a switch or automatically.
The shutters can be controlled individually by a wall switch or handheld transmitter. Transmitters can be used anywhere in the house, due to radio communication with the drive. Individual rooms, floors or the entire house can be controlled conveniently as groups without the need for additional wiring – either by pressing a button on the handheld transmitter or completely automatically. With a little thought, therefore, you can plan the simple and convenient control of your whole house when designing your new home.
The easiest and most popular device for the comprehensive control of your home is our commeo Multi Send handheld transmitter. The handheld transmitter has 20 channels, which can be grouped together in 10 different groups. Each one of these groups can be controlled manually or with a separate automatic timer. If you need more channels and groups, the transmitter can be upgraded to 32 channels and 16 groups, each with 4 timers. A fre configuration tool makes it extremely easy to adjust the settings on the PC, laptop or Mac.
