In every roller shutter system, the bearing technology determines smooth operation and the longevity of the entire installation. Precision-manufactured SELVE ball bearings and plain bearings ensure low-friction support of the roller shutter shaft in the roller shutter box – for quiet, even raising and lowering of the curtain throughout its entire service life.

The bearing brackets or prefabricated box brackets are screwed to the end faces of the roller shutter box or into the box cover. Correct alignment in both the horizontal and vertical directions is crucial: only then will the roller shutter shaft (octagonal shaft) sit exactly level and the wound-up roller shutter curtain run centrally within the available winding space. The ball bearing or plain bearing is then inserted into the bearing bracket – it forms the actual connection to the roller shutter shaft and absorbs its rotary motion.
