Crank gears are used wherever a roller shutter is to be operated manually, in a space-saving way and with reduced effort, and where an electric solution is neither wanted nor possible – operation is comfortably carried out by a hand crank. For this, SELVE offers a perfectly coordinated system of robust crank gears, flexible cardan joints and durable crank handles.

SELVE crank gears are available in different designs and gear ratios from 2.6:1 to 7:1 – from the compact mini bevel gear through classic bevel gears and worm gears to the external gearbox that fits around the tube. Which gear is the right one depends on the cranking force required, which is determined by the weight and size of the roller shutter: the heavier the curtain, the higher the gear ratio should be. Depending on the gear, the maximum shutter weight ranges from 15 kg up to 30 kg. With a coupling matched individually to the gear, the gears can be used with roller shutter shafts of sizes SW 40, SW 50 and SW 60.

Crank handles are available in numerous lengths from 600 mm to 3,000 mm and in the colours white, silver anodised and brown – so the right crank handle can be found for every installation situation. The matching cardan joints, which are available in the colours of the crank handle, are mounted on the wall or on the roller shutter box and, depending on the version, transmit the cranking force at an angle of up to 90° to the square or hexagon bars, which then engage in the gear. Bendable versions and magnetic cardan joints offer additional flexibility in tight installation situations. Add-on parts such as handle locks, screw-on plates and bearing plates for mounting the crank gears round off the product range.
