Anything is Possible – With Just One Radio System
Intuitive to operate and highly expandable – SELVE's state-of-the-art radio system is perfectly aligned with the needs of trade professionals and the desires of end customers
Lüdenscheid | 11-02-2019
"Our state-of-the-art radio system is intuitive to operate and highly expandable, making it perfectly aligned with the needs of trade professionals and the desires of end customers," says Stephan Backenecker. Because commeo can be expanded gradually to meet any need, Backenecker expects significant growth impulses in 2019. A major driver of this success is likely to be the SELVE Home Server 2, which will launch in the first half of the year. Last year, SELVE rounded out its state-of-the-art radio system consistently. The radio lineup is now very comprehensive, offering "the right solution for many requirements and installation situations," emphasizes Backenecker. In addition to various types of radio motors, the system includes a range of handheld and wall transmitters, radio receivers, new timers, and sun protection sensors.
"From simple standard setups to central, smart home control via app – commeo can be used in various configurations, hitting the mark with customers due to its wide array of control options," says the product manager. "Our bidirectional radio series performs excellently in practice, as evidenced by the growing number of new commeo projects." Logical additions to the product range and various SELVE training programs further boosted sales in 2018. In just a few months, the next commeo innovation will be introduced. "With the SELVE Home Server 2, we are setting new benchmarks in the smart home sector and launching future-oriented technology," says the product manager.
SELVE Home is Coming
The product succeeds the previous "commeo Home Server" and offers much more in comparison. For instance, house control via voice assistants such as Alexa will be possible, and various smart home products from Homematic IP can also be integrated. "The range of functions and the virtually limitless control possibilities via app are further expanded, fully in line with our SELVE philosophy of ease of use," Backenecker explains. The product can be used in both new and existing systems: anyone using either iveo or commeo radio can upgrade to SELVE Home to achieve even greater convenience.
The innovative SELVE Home Server 2 is eagerly anticipated not only by trade professionals but also by end customers like Manuel and Christin Pape. During last year's renovation, their approximately 170 sqm single-family home in Olpe was fully equipped with commeo products for the convenient control of their shutters. "The radio system gives us incredible flexibility; everything runs smoothly and reliably," the couple reports. "In the future, we plan to take commeo a step further. Once the new SELVE Home Server is on the market, we'll add it on. Then we’ll be able to control our entire system remotely. At that stage, we'll also retrofit heating thermostats, smoke detectors, and window contacts."
Retrofit with commeo
Even now, the Pape family is already benefiting from commeo's wide range of functions in their Olpe home. Whether for centralized control of all blinds, individual switching times for different groups, or single shutter control, "all our wishes have been realized," say Manuel and Christin Pape. It all began with a comprehensive renovation of their 1970s single-family home: all shutter boxes were insulated by a professional craft business, and all shutter curtains were replaced. For the right drive, a total of eleven SEL Plus-RC drives have been in use since then. Their central and timed control is currently handled by the commeo Multi Send. The effort was minimal: "In just one hour, the handheld transmitter was fully set up with the configuration tool – everything is well thought out and works perfectly," they conclude. Additional wall and handheld transmitters allow them to operate the blinds locally on the ground and upper floors as needed. Their furniture is also protected from sunlight. At two large panoramic windows on the south and west sides, the commeo Light Send light sensor is used, which is attached to the glass with a suction cup and moves the blinds to the set shading position based on light intensity.
With the commeo Multi Send as a central house control for various automatic commands, Manuel and Christin Pape can manage their blinds according to their daily needs. Their smart journey will continue throughout the year: "We are already excited about the new Home Server and look forward to controlling shutters and other smart home products via app in the future."
