The variety of the commeo radio system is becoming even more versatile: thanks to innovative receivers specialised for specific applications. SELVE has developed four new “commeo Receive” units, presented at R+T and already available. Whether for retrofitting wired drives, controlling other electrical devices or garage door operators — the new flush-mounted receivers are now significantly smaller and feature an integrated antenna. With a markedly lower standby power consumption, these efficient products are gradually replacing the previous receiver model.

“The extraordinary possibilities of our bidirectional radio system continue to expand. With these new developments, we have responded to customer requests for controlling additional application areas,” explains Stefan Backenecker, SELVE Product Manager. Integrating many devices into the commeo ecosystem is now considerably simplified by the four precisely designed Receive types. Instead of offering just a single receiver, SELVE now provides a complete commeo Receive programme that enables a wider range of applications. “Designed for special use cases, the four different units are the optimal solution for retrofit and renovation projects as well as for controlling other electrical loads via commeo,” says the Control Technology Product Manager.

Four receivers, many advantages

In the area of external flush-mounted radio receivers, the extended product range now includes:

commeo Receive Up/Down – used to control wired awning or roller shutter drives (of any manufacturer), integrating them into the commeo system for radio operation.

commeo Receive On/Off Duo – designed to control one or two electrical devices, e.g. lighting (up to 3 A), enabling easy integration into the radio system. “The special feature is that two loads can be controlled separately with just one receiver,” notes Andreas Werner, SELVE electronics development engineer. “Previously you needed two commeo Receive units for this.”

commeo Receive On/Off Power – as its name suggests, this receiver enables, for the first time, the integration of devices up to 8 A (e.g. patio heaters) into commeo radio control. “Both of these new receivers for electronic loads also offer special parameter settings,” says Andreas Werner. These include on/off delays. “Thanks to specific parameters, it is now also possible to use the flush-mounted receivers for stairwell lighting automation,” he adds.

Completing the range is the new commeo Receive Garage, developed specifically for comfortable control of common garage door operators. Thanks to the receiver, doors can be opened and closed at the push of a button. Matching this, SELVE has developed the compact commeo Key Send 3 for the keyring. The handy transmitter triggers impulse control for Open / Stop and Close / Stop. “Additionally, the small practical transmitter can be used to control all SELVE radio drives — for example as a central control when leaving the house,” says Stefan Backenecker. commeo Key Send 3

Noticeably smaller and flatter

The four new commeo Receive units also offer these benefits: “The receivers have become considerably smaller, with 40% less volume than before,” highlights Andreas Werner. “Together with the low-profile design, they can be integrated far more easily into a flush-mounted box directly behind a switch or socket.” Another plus: the antenna is no longer external but integrated, which greatly simplifies installation, stresses Product Manager Stefan Backenecker. Moreover, the standby consumption of the new commeo Receive has been reduced by more than 50% compared with the previous model — to below 0.2 W. Thanks to the volt-free relay contact, the receivers can incorporate not only drives but also devices with different supply voltages into the commeo system. In addition, the 230 V auxiliary terminal allows direct connection of an additional push-button, e.g. from the customer’s existing switch programme. “It’s a cost-effective solution that ensures a harmonious overall look,” says Stefan Backenecker.
