The categories of personal data that are affected

When downloading the SELVE app, the necessary information is transferred to the app store, in particular user name, email address and customer number of your account, as well as time of download, payment information and the individual device code. We have no influence on the collection of this data, nor are we responsible for it. We only process the data to the extent necessary for downloading the SELVE app onto your mobile device.

If you use the SELVE app without establishing a connection to the SELVE cloud, i.e. exclusively in your WLAN, no data will be transmitted to us. The same applies if you only use the demo mode of the SELVE app.

If you also want to control your devices from outside your WLAN using the SELVE app, you will need an account for the SELVE cloud. When you set up your account, we collect your email address as your username and for future communication with you. In addition, you define an individual password that you can freely choose in accordance with our password guidelines. We also collect your IP address at each use and your first and last name.

In the SELVE cloud the current status of each of the devices you control will also be stored.

On this legal basis we also process the technical data that we collect in order to ensure the functionality of our products and so that we are able to guarantee stability and security.

Duration of storage or criteria for determining the duration of storage

The personal data that we collect will be stored for as long as necessary and then deleted if we are not legally obligated to store these data for a longer period of time, e.g. due to tax and commercial law obligations to store and document data (arising from the German Commercial Code (HGB), German Penal Code (StGB) or the German Tax Code (AO)), or if you have consented to more extensive storage in accordance with Article(6)(1)(1)(a) GDPR.
